Overview
Work in Salesforce can start with locating standard or custom objects by a partial name, then inspecting their fields, relationships, and picklist options. From Claude, users can run SOQL queries over related records or use the dedicated aggregation tool for grouped counts, totals, averages, and filtered summaries. SOSL search covers multiple objects, while record operations support insertion, updates, deletion, and upserts keyed by external IDs.
Configuration and development tools extend that workflow beyond reading data. Custom objects and fields can be created or revised, with separate controls for inspecting, granting, or revoking field permissions. Apex tools retrieve source and metadata for classes and triggers, create or update their implementations, and execute anonymous code with results and debug output. Log management supports enabling or disabling logging for users and retrieving their logs. Authentication options include username and password, OAuth client credentials, and Salesforce CLI. With CLI authentication, switching organizations follows the default org in a VS Code workspace.
