Overview

Salesforce org management tools cover resolving a username or alias, listing configured orgs, creating scratch orgs and snapshots, and opening an org in a browser. Developers can query org data with SOQL, deploy metadata from a local project, retrieve org metadata into that project, and assign permission sets to users. A dedicated Apex test tool excludes agent, Lightning, and flow tests. Unfinished operations, such as metadata deployments or scratch org creation, can be continued through a separate resume tool.

The server requires orgs to be authorized locally before use. Configuration can select specific orgs, the default target org or Dev Hub, or every authorized org. Developers can enable functional toolsets alongside individual tools, with core tools always available. Tools that are not generally available require an explicit opt-in. The Node-based server communicates over stdio, and its documentation provides client configuration examples for VS Code with Copilot, Claude Code, Cline, and Cursor.
