Overview

Task organization centers on reminders_tasks and reminders_lists, which let an MCP client retrieve, add, modify or remove reminders and their lists. Reminder content can include notes, dates, URLs, priorities, tags and completion state. Searches can narrow results by completion, due dates, tags or text. For checklist work, reminders_subtasks keeps items in each reminder's notes, so they also appear in the native Reminders app.

Calendar planning starts with calendar_calendars: inspect available calendars before adding or changing events, optionally limiting the collection to calendars with events in a chosen date range. calendar_events handles retrieving, creating, revising and deleting event time blocks. The integration uses EventKit through the bundled Swift event CLI and communicates with MCP clients over stdio on macOS. Editing has limits: reminder alarms, recurrence rules and location triggers must be configured in Reminders.app. Calendar URLs, structured locations, availability, alarms, recurrence and the explicit all-day toggle are also read-only; adjust those in Calendar.app. Date-only event input determines all-day status.
