mcp-sqlite

Sqlite MCP Server

mcp-sqlite gives developers using MCP-enabled IDEs tools to inspect SQLite databases, edit records, and run SQL. It supports database and schema lookup, filtered reads, and queries with optional parameter values.

Overview

SQLite inspection in mcp-sqlite covers both database metadata and table structure. The db_info tool reports the database path, existence, size, and table count. list_tables returns user tables while excluding system tables, and get_table_schema provides column details for a selected table. This gives developers a way to examine the database and identify fields before working with its records.

The record workflow uses create_record for inserts and read_records for retrieval, with optional filters, limits, and offsets on reads. update_records changes values in rows matching supplied conditions, while delete_records removes matching rows. For work expressed directly in SQL, query accepts a statement plus an optional array of parameter values. The server runs on Node.js and uses stdio for communication. Setup examples show integration with Cursor and VSCode through their MCP settings, and the database path must be passed as an argument.

mcp-sqlite setup notes

  • mcp-sqlite records stdio only; confirm a network transport upstream before planning remote access.
