Overview

Kite Connect workflows can begin with search_instruments to find trading instruments, then use market tools for live quotes, last traded prices, OHLC values, or historical prices. Portfolio queries cover holdings, positions, margins, and mutual fund investments. Order inspection separates overall trading history from the history and trades tied to an individual order. Several listing tools support pagination, including holdings, positions, orders, trades, and instrument search.

Trading workflows use place_order, modify_order, and cancel_order, while a separate group handles creating, listing, editing, and deleting Good Till Triggered orders. The login tool supplies an authorization link for Kite access. The hosted service requires neither a local installation nor user-supplied API keys, but excludes potentially destructive trading operations. Running the server locally with Kite Connect credentials provides access to those operations. Self-hosted operators can omit selected tools through EXCLUDED_TOOLS, allowing read-only configurations. The project documents stdio, HTTP, SSE, and hybrid deployment modes.
