Overview

Direct-flight searches in variflight-mcp take a date plus departure and arrival cities or airports; connecting itineraries use city codes. Travelers can also retrieve a particular service by its flight number and date. For choosing among itineraries, searchFlightItineraries returns recommendations in prose, including the number of matching flights, the lowest overall price, and the shortest duration. getFlightPriceByCities provides a different view: structured records of available flights with cabin-by-cabin prices. These recommendation and pricing queries both work with cities, rather than specific airports.

For a known flight and date, the comfort lookup provides punctuality, aircraft type, cabin layout, seat comfort, meals, and entertainment details. Live aircraft tracking uses a registration or tail number, not a flight number; when that identifier is missing, callers can first try the flight-number search to obtain it. A separate weather tool gives a 3-day forecast for an airport, while the date helper returns today's date for the local timezone. This Node.js integration communicates over stdio and needs a VariFlight API key.
