Overview
Caiyun Weather's tools identify the requested location by longitude and latitude. get_realtime_weather returns temperature, humidity, precipitation intensity, and wind measurements, alongside pollutant readings, AQI using Chinese and US standards, and UV and comfort indices. To look ahead, get_hourly_forecast covers the next 72 hours with temperatures, conditions, rain probability, and wind speed and direction. get_weekly_forecast shifts to daily conditions, rain probability, and minimum and maximum temperatures for the next 7 days.
The other tools cover recent observations and weather warnings. get_historical_weather retrieves temperatures and conditions from the past 24 hours, while get_weather_alerts returns alert titles, codes, statuses, and descriptions for the requested location. Claude Desktop setup is documented for both package use and local development, allowing users to ask weather questions through that client. API access and uv are prerequisites in the setup instructions. A valid Caiyun Weather API token must be supplied through CAIYUN_WEATHER_API_TOKEN for every tool to work. The integration uses stdio, and the documentation includes a debugging workflow with the MCP Inspector.
