Overview

Lighthouse MCP Server lets an agent start with a website URL and choose audit categories, a device target and optional network and CPU throttling. Focused tools return performance scores and Core Web Vitals, flag LCP improvement opportunities, compare mobile with desktop results and test custom performance budgets. Resource inspection covers images, scripts, stylesheets and fonts, while a separate tool identifies unused JavaScript. Accessibility checks return scores and recommendations, SEO tools suggest improvements, and security analysis includes HTTPS and CSP.

Reusable prompts help agents interpret audit output, compare results before and after changes, and develop performance plans or budget recommendations. Other prompts address resource optimization, SEO and accessibility improvements. Reference resources supply metric thresholds, WCAG guidance, scoring explanations and framework-specific optimization advice. For authenticated audits, persistent Chrome profiles used in headed mode can retain cookies and local storage across runs. Attaching to an existing Chrome instance through remote debugging is also supported, but keeping storage requires a profile option.
