Overview
Message retrieval in fast-mcp-telegram can start across Telegram chats or inside a selected conversation. Global searches accept multiple terms, date bounds, and a chat-type filter; chat-specific searches can also return matching totals or the latest messages when no query is supplied. Search uses case-insensitive text and partial terms rather than wildcards or regular expressions. After locating message IDs, an assistant can fetch their contents and metadata, then send a reply or edit an existing message. Sending and editing support plain text, Markdown, and HTML.
Contact lookup provides another starting point: search by name, username, or phone number, then use the resulting identifier to inspect profile details or search a chat. Lookup covers saved contacts, public users, and public groups and channels. Phone-based sending requires a Telegram-registered number with a country code; it creates a contact only when needed and can remove that newly created contact afterward. For operations beyond the dedicated tools, invoke_mtproto accepts a Telegram API method name and JSON parameters to call MTProto directly.
