Overview
Pool discovery and wallet review feed into trading workflows in defi-trading-mcp. CoinGecko and GeckoTerminal tools retrieve contract-based token prices, pool search results, trending pools, and newly created pools. Traders using an MCP client can inspect candlestick data and recent pool trades, then look up token descriptions, websites, and social links. Portfolio calls offer either balances alone or holdings with prices and metadata. Wallet transaction history is marked beta and limited to 1 address on Ethereum or Base.
For a standard swap, get_swap_price supplies an indicative price, while get_swap_quote returns transaction data needed by execute_swap. The gasless path has separate pricing and quote calls; quotes include EIP-712 signature data, and submission signs approval and trade messages. A status tool checks submitted gasless swaps. Other calls identify supported trading chains, gasless networks, eligible approval tokens, DEXes, and chain-specific liquidity sources. The server communicates over stdio and requires a wallet private key, wallet address, and CoinGecko API key; an Alchemy key is optional.
