Overview

Serper-backed Google search lets LLM applications choose between a general query tool and specialized search categories. Alongside google_search, the project exposes tools for images, videos, and news. Places, maps, reviews, and shopping have separate tools as well, while Lens, Scholar, and autocomplete extend the available search categories. The tools serve language models working through MCP clients, with Claude Desktop covered in the setup instructions.

A separate webpage_scrape tool handles webpage scraping by URL, distinct from the Google search tools. The server runs on Python and communicates over stdio. Configuration examples supply the Serper API key through SERPER_API_KEY. Installation paths include Smithery for Claude Desktop, uvx, and pip, with pip instructions covering both project dependencies and global use. The documented debugging workflow uses MCP Inspector for uvx installations or a local development checkout.
