• A MiniMax API key matching the selected regional host

The command follows the README's Claude Desktop configuration. Windows Claude Desktop may require Developer Mode. SSE is supported, but a ready-to-use SSE endpoint is not stated in the README.

1. Choose Claude Code configuration scope

   For MiniMax MCP, open Project scope: .mcp.json at the repository root. Project JSON: merge into mcpServers; user scope: use the CLI.

Troubleshooting MiniMax in Claude Code

• If MiniMax MCP fails to start, check uvx minimax-mcp (from uv, for Python tools), the working directory, and Claude Code's selected scope; inspect claude mcp list and /mcp.
• MiniMax MCP: check MINIMAX_API_HOST, MINIMAX_API_KEY, MINIMAX_API_RESOURCE_MODE, MINIMAX_MCP_BASE_PATH; keep credentials out of shared .mcp.json.
• MiniMax MCP uses stdio here: Claude Code must keep the configured process running; protocol output belongs on stdout and diagnostics on stderr.
• Known limitation: API calls may incur costs.
• Known limitation: API keys and hosts must match the account region.
